    Pictures on Facebook (lesson #1)

When you are enjoying yourself at a party with your friends and someone decides to snap a picture of you please do us all a favor and try to refrain from giving the peace sign or flipping the bird. Doing these popular hand gestures say a lot about you. But what they don’t say is that you’re cool, want world peace or are a badass rebel daring enough to disrepect anyone who gazes upon the image of you. Or are you flipping off the photog? Either way you are letting us all know you are immature, classless and well, just really don’t know what to do with your hands when someone asks for a pose.

Please fight this urge to communicate a hidden hand message in all of your pictures and next time you see someone with a camera, try to just smile, put your hands down and act naturally. But if acting natural is to be a total douch, then flip away. (we already know all about you)

Me: “Well sir, the total for your new logo, business cards and menu designs is $350.”

Client: “Are you kidding me? The reason I chose a student designer was to get something cheap, plus help you out for your portfolio. I could have went to a professional and paid much less.”

    Me: “Um, that’s…

This is exactly (the type treatment) why I stopped freelancing in college!

Happy Father’s Day to you, Dad.
Thanks for all you have given, especially your gifts of optimism and sense of humor. I don’t think any of us would have gotten very far without them. We all miss and love you very much and think about you every day.

"Struggling and suffering are the essence of a life worth living. If you’re not pushing yourself beyond the comfort zone, if you’re not demanding more from yourself - expanding and learning as you go - you’re choosing a numb existence. You’re denying yourself an extraordinary trip.” — Dean Karnazes (Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner)"
